more nostalgic shots of a boat on stanley beach

perfectly evocative of my poem in the mainblog - and it made feel like i wanted to live there again

young couple and old man fishing. they stand impervious to one another and unaware of the camera's cold eye on the beach of Stanley.

a BNW HK old building.

the old corridor leading to the old place. destination ming: star ferry, Central.

a series of nostalgic photos coming up! some random man on a random bench at the star ferry terminal; all his worldy possessions alongside him.

the clock tower that all the hooha's been about

a little girl on the steps of the clock tower, TST side. appeared in mainblog too.

steps at the star ferry terminus on the TST side. doesn't that man look gloriously alone, aloof and carefree?

a door with many signs. Why do i think it's photo-worthy? beats me too. but its just something you don't get to see in singapore.. and therefore, qualifies as beautiful.

a drink stall with colours. notice the blue, green and orange (approximately) portions of the shot. Yay! and the sunlight slanting across in shadow makes it all the more beautiful.

the view up an airspace. i'm sorry, i'm too biology - a well in the middle of four apartment blocks. i like.

middle island, between deepwater bay and repulse bay. surprise, this is the view at 7am in the morning from the grotto outside the room aunt liz gave me. whoohoo. a freaking cold 7am it was too!

a foggy day in san fran. Cannot see right? never mind, that's the point - foggy.

with aunty-po, my granddad's friend from long ago. she's aged so much in the intervening years, it makes one sad.

A sunset behind surrounding mountains. The best shot I could get, but this falls far short of the glory and majesty that sunset inspired.

and me. and the pancakes. Yum.

Aunt Lisa and Nana at IHOP, the International House of Pancakes. With the best pancakes you'll ever eat in your life.

Aunty Lisa in her study with the two posers at her feet

More of the beautiful ones. So poser, are they not?

Maxie and Bambi. Utterly beautiful.

the skylight of a different corner of Forum. Yes, it's beautiful I know, but why come to Las Vegas to experience the world? I want to go out into the world n experience it for real!

the moon moving across the night sky in ancient Rome. Anyone believe me? Welcome to the land of make-believe gone awry, ladies and gentlemen: Las Vegas. The interior of Forum shopping mall is pictured.

another view.

the exterior of the house, under a richly blue sky. or at least under center metering.

the lamp and the skylights in the Vegas house."And God made two lights... the greater to rule to the day and the lesser to rule the night."

the wing of Southwest Airlines' Boeing 737. Why am i so enamoured of plane wings and their surrounding skies?

the inverse view: BNW view of the bed inside room 609, Andrew's Hotel, viewed from a really strange angle somewhere in the vicinity of abovementioned worldview.

BNW view of the world. or at least the world outside room 609, Andrew's Hotel, viewed from a supine position on the near side of the queen bed. Hee.

Christmas tree, red-themed.

is it beautiful? it IS beautiful.

the Christmas lights in the storefronts are the only ones that shine in this town after dark. what an apt metaphor for the light that Jesus shone into our dark world.

the ultimate in Christmassy photography. NGS, are you looking?

a tiny park along the street, a little slice of Europe on the coast of California

down the roads of carmel-by-the-sea; a name so quintessentially English, and an atmosphere so upliftilngly Christmassy..

the sun diffracting on the face of an old Victorian house; it seems to tell me - I have seen more than you could ever have imagined.

my hand. with the monterey bay chop.. yay yay!
