Australia pics IX: Margaret River

Canal RocksHardworking fisherman, so cold still fish

Cute hat..

The sea crashing over the Canal Rocks, with the strong rays from the setting sun

Lake Cave

Unfortunately my cam was not powerful enough to capture the beautiful formations inside the dark cave.. these are the best I can get

Last glimpse of the sky

The doline in which Lake Cave is situated

The Wineries

I like this particular shot of jules and dog.

The wineries have beautiful gardens and grounds

Australia pics VIII - Scenery of the South C: The Towns

Honey Meadery on the way back from Albany

Another blink town of Walpole - the cafe where we had lunch

Sunset on Mt Clarence

View of the surrounds of Albany from Mt Clarence.

The calm town of Emu Point

The Christmas lights on York St, the main street of Albany

Australia pics VII - Scenery of the South B: The Seas

Mandalay BayMy T-shirt is prophetic: Breezy Bay. Heh.

Postcard-like shots of Juls and Dani.

Mandalay Bay

The road to Mandalay Bay..

The Gap and Natural Bridge
One of those perpetually-necessary Happy Family shots.. Heh.

That's the best view that we could get of the Gap

Julz trying to get a better look at the Gap.. In fact he is already on the last rock at the water's edge, but the view still ain't good enough

The Gap - looking like someone smashed a knife out of heaven and cleaved the cliffs here into 2, a perfectly rectangular space into which the sea rushes and foams

The Natural Bridge. Self explanatory and you can see the sea rushing in under the rocks. The bright green thing in the foreground is a pool where algae are growing.. The water probably splashed onto that portion of the rock ages ago and has been undisturbed since

Frenchman Bay, Jimmy Newhells Harbour and the Blowholes
Picnic style lunch by the seaside..

You can see how clear the water is.. The brown stuff are not pollution but twigs and leaves that have fallen into the sea.

The beautiful Frenchman bay, which we stopped at for lunch

The beautiful and secluded Jimmy Newhells Harbour

Waiting for the blowholes to blow..

Sounds like a tongue twister - How much Blow will a Blowhole Blow?

My mum looks so cool

The sea looks so blue like someone poured in food colouring

Elephant Rocks and Greens Pool
My fave pic of all time, even though you can see my fats (darn). SHould photoshop the fats away but I don't know how to.

And us the younger generation doing what we do best! Goofing around..

and wind.. Because the south coast of Australia faces the Great Southern Ocean, and Antarctica. Is it any wonder that it's so cold? brrrr.....

Soaking up the sun...

A glorious sunset at Elephant Rocks

Australia pics VI - Scenery of the South A: The Trees

The rest of us all just 'wayang' that we have climbed, of course..

This tree is called the Gloucester tree, it has metal rungs stuck into it all the way up its height, so that people can climb to the top and watch for any wildfires around the region during the hot and dry summer. Kudos to Julian who managed the 60m climb up and back in less than 10 min.

Finally we were so relieved when we hit the top of the Walk.

Therefore you see my face is 'chao' stressed

As you can see this is not the smartest pair of shoes to attempt the climb in, especially when it is windy and raining

We also got a chance to climb up the Tree Top walk to a 40-meter height, which is at the tree top level of some of the average-height trees.

And this one, with the 2 speakers attached, we called it the Shrek tree.. Heh

Did I mention the trees have personalities.. This one is called Grandma Tingle because its supposed to look like some lao aunty. Can see?

But no tree beats this one in size.. It is big enough to fit a minibus into the trunk. By the way the trees do have hollow trunks when alive, because of the way their roots grow.. The trees are not dead

My mum and uncle in another big tree

Blurry picture cos it was raining, but just for some perspective.. My mum, Danielle and Julian standing INSIDE the trunk of the tree.

The Southwest is famed for the great trees that grow there, known as Karri trees or Tingle Trees. Boy are they huge..
